ScopePicked

About

ScopePicked exists because telescopes are sold on the wrong number. A box promises “675× magnification” when the figure that decides what you will see is the aperture. A “beginner” telescope arrives on a mount too wobbly to hold a planet in view. A smart telescope’s field of view and app requirements are buried in a manual most buyers never open. We started this site to read the specification sheets and manuals the makers publish, reconcile the numbers, and say what each one means at the eyepiece.

What we cover

Telescopes for a first night out, smart telescopes, telescopes for the Moon and planets, and the accessories that decide whether a telescope gets used — chosen for what you want to see and where you will observe from, not for a brand or a price point.

How we work

ScopePicked is research-led. Every guide is built on published documentation, and we don’t buy, set up or observe with the telescopes we write about. Every guide states what was verified and what wasn’t. The full method is at How we choose, and the money policy is in our affiliate disclosure.

Who is behind it

Every guide is published under the ScopePicked name and says who edited it, with a short bio. We publish no anonymous content.
